Gift Shop Volunteer

 

The Huntsville Hospital Auxiliary is recruiting adult volunteers interested in making a difference in your hospital. Do you have 3 or more hours a month to spend serving in the hospital gift shop “Branches” selling such items as food, sundries, clothing and gifts? There are numerous shifts available as follows:

 

Monday to Friday:

–  9:30 to 12:00

–  12:00 to 3:00                      

–  3:00 to 6:00

Saturday and Sunday:   

–  12:00 to 3:00

During the winter months the weekday shift from 12:00 to 3:00 is shortened by a ½ hour to run from 12:00 to 2:30 and the 3:00 to 6:00 shift runs from 2:30 to 5:00.

 

Requirements

 

Being a volunteer requires us to ensure that your safety and the safety of those visiting or staying in the hospital are being met.  You will need:  a vulnerable persons sector police check, immunizations required for volunteering, character references, orientation to the role which includes learning the requirements for all shifts, willingness to commit to a minimum of 6 months and an Auxiliary membership fee of $30.00 which includes a vest or smock.

 

Working in the gift shop is a rewarding experience where you will meet a variety of people from patients, staff, visitors and other members of your community who volunteer and work here. You will have an opportunity to make a difference.
